2021 Rightsizing: How to Make a SMART Move

On May 12, 2021, we held our virtual event - Rightsizing: How to make a SMART Move. Leonard Casey, Customer Experience Manager for WayForth, Inc talked about the steps to take to make your next move a success! His presentation included tips for paring your possessions and ideas for what to do with the items you no longer need. Leonard proposes starting small so you are not overwhelmed by the process and sorting your items into three categories: Keep, Sell/Donate, and Toss. He also suggests making a floor plan of your new home and to measure the furniture you plan to move to ensure it will fit in the new space.

Melissa also presented an economic update and discussed the increase in the production of electric vehicles.

We would like to thank everyone for attending our event.

2019 Cyber Security Awareness Training

On May 8, 2019, back by popular demand, we held our second Cyber Security Awareness event at the Hotel Fiesole in Skippack, PA. Our clients loved this event the first time we hosted it in 2016, and the response to this year’s event was no different! We had a special guest, Anthony Kazlauskas from TechGuides Inc., who talked about common ways cyber criminals try to trick you, including through phishing e-mails and links on dangerous websites. Anthony explained that the best way to protect yourself is through awareness and by trusting your instincts. For example, you should be cautious of e-mails with suspicious content, hyperlinks, or attachments; hackers will often send e-mails with infected hyperlinks or documents attached. Anthony also identified red flags that could alert you to the danger of a cyber-attack and what to do if you think you may have compromised your information.

Melissa also presented an economic update and discussed emerging markets, global trade, and economic growth in China.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for joining us that evening! We would also like to thank our sponsor, PIMCO, and Hotel Fiesole for hosting us at their beautiful venue.

2018 Wine Tasting Dinner

Our 2018 Wine Tasting dinner was held on Wednesday, October 24th at the Indian Valley Country Club in Telford, PA. This year, we enjoyed wines from all over the world: Italy, Oregon, California, and Australia.

We started the evening with Elmo Pio Prosecco from Veneto, Italy and NEXT Pinot Gris from Willamette Valley, Oregon. They paired fantastically with our hors d’oeuvres. Next, we had a non-oaky chardonnay from Joel Gott in Santa Barbara, California; even our non-chardonnay drinkers enjoyed this! The chardonnay was followed by Shooting Star Pinot Noir from Lake County, California. It complemented the second course perfectly. Lastly, a rich Shiraz Cabernet blend from Penfolds paired with an amazing chocolate pot de crème with chocolate-cherry bark and chocolate pecan baklava for dessert rounded out the night.

Our chef, Angela Shellenberger, prepared a delicious dinner for us to enjoy. Each course helped set the mood as we enjoyed each other’s company. What a pleasure it was to spend the evening with our clients! It is our way of saying thank you, to each of you, for your support and friendship.

We would also like to thank our sponsors: JP Morgan Asset Management, OppenheimerFunds, MFS Investment Management, Principal Funds, and Advisors Asset Management. Thank you to Vanguard for providing our raffle gift baskets. A big thank you to Breakthru Beverage for providing and pairing the wine. And last but not least, thank you to Indian Valley Country Club for hosting this wonderful event!

Planning for a Successful Retirement Seminar

On August 1, 2018, we hosted a retirement seminar in conjunction with Nancy Lawrence, EA. Over the years, we have partnered with Nancy, a local tax preparer in Souderton, PA, as a valuable resource for our clients who are looking for tax advice or help with tax preparation. This event was an opportunity for Nancy's clients to learn more about retirement planning. Melissa was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with Nancy's clients about how to make their money last in retirement, timing Social Security for the greatest benefit, how they will get paid when they retire and how it is taxed, and things they can do now to ensure a smooth transition into retirement. A link to view Melissa's presentation is below.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for joining us that evening! We would also like to thank our sponsors, JP Morgan Asset Management and PIMCO, and Indian Valley Country Club for hosting us at their beautiful venue. For more information about Nancy's firm, please visit

2018 Half-Time Report

We held our annual Half-Time Report on July 25, 2018 at the Hotel Fiesole in Skippack, PA. We celebrated Melissa’s 35th year owning her practice with some fun trivia about 1983. Prizes were awarded to guests with the correct answers.

Melissa discussed what’s been happening in the markets since January. Currently, corporate earnings are strong, interest rates on mortgages are still low, and the unemployment rate is below average. 2018 is gaining slow and steady. Melissa also showed a comparison to other emerging market economies throughout the world. The United States is in a good position even compared with other developed economies. She recommended a book called Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World-- and Why Things Are Better Than You Think by Hans Rosling, Anna Rosling Ronnlund, and Ola Rosling. The book will test your knowledge about the world, but it also helps to illustrate our current economy.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our event! We would also like to thank our sponsor, MFS Investment Management, and Hotel Fiesole for hosting us!

2017 Wine Tasting Dinner

The 2017 Wine Tasting Dinner was held on Wednesday, October 25th at the Indian Valley Country Club. This year's dinner featured a variety of wines specifically selected to complement each course. Our sommelier for the evening explained why each wine was selected and taught us which flavor profiles to look for during each course. Our taste buds were tantalized by crisp gooseberries, smoky cranberries, sweet fruits, and everything in between.

We started the evening with a light Carmenet Blanc de Blancs Brut and a bubbly Fleur de Mer Côtes de Provence, which both complemented our appetizers. Our first course of jumbo stuffed prawn was paired with Arona Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, NZ. This plush white wine was crisp and refreshing. Our second course of pan-roasted wild boar chop was served with MacMurray Ranch Pinot Noir from Russia River Valley, CA. This wine featured a flavor profile of cinnamon, red cherry, cranberry, light tobacco, and a touch of leather. The smoky flavor enhanced the woodsy aura of our dinner perfectly. Our final course of Gâteau St. Honoré was served with Sandeman Founder's Reserve Porto from Portugal. The sweetly rich port provided a hazelnut undertone to the chocolate mousse and salted caramel of our dessert.

2017 Half-Time Report

Our annual Half-Time Report was held on July 26, 2017 at the Hotel Fiesole in Skippack, PA. Melissa began the evening with some fun summer trivia. Prizes were awarded to guests with the correct answers.

Melissa reviewed what's been happening in the markets since the beginning of the year. She presented a historical view of the stock market to show how, since 1980, there have been more years that end with gains than there have been with losses. So far, 2017 is "up." Melissa discussed Bear Markets and Bull Runs. Currently, we are in a Bull Run and at very low volatility with the market expanding at a gradual rate. This steady growth indicates that there is no need to worry about a sudden correction, like we would expect with a quickly growing market. Melissa also touched on global investments and the importance of diversifying your portfolio.

We would like to thank Delaware Funds for sponsoring the event and the Hotel Fiesole for hosting us at their venue.

We would like to thank the Hotel Fiesole for hosting us and PIMCO for sponsoring the event.
